Little
Sis
Simpson
At
The
Tower
Hey,
do
you
like
rich
white
girls
singing
about
how
hard
it
is
to
be
them?
Then
you'll
love
Ashlee
Simpson,
who
will
be
stopping
into
the
Tower
Theatre
in
Upper
Darby
Saturday
night
at
7:30.
Simpson,
as
we
all
know,
is
the
younger
sister
of
human
genome
experiment
Jessica,
a
distinction
that
has
helped
carry
Ashlee
into
the
limelight.Riding
on
bigger
sister's
coattails
as a
back-up
dancer,
Ashlee
was
later
marketed
to
teenage
girls
who
also
had
more
attractive
older
sisters.
Once
in
place,
she
dyed
her
blonde
hair
brown
to
stand
out,
got
a TV
show
documenting
her
life,
and
began
recording
songs
like
"Pieces
of
Me,"
a
harrowing
tale
of
how
hard
it
is
to
live
in
her
sister's
shadow
(despite
the
fact
it
got
her
where
she
is
today).
You
may
remember
Simpson's
less
remarkable
"Saturday
Night
Live"
appearance
a
couple
of
months
ago,
wherein
her
"backing
vocals"
went
a
little
haywire
and
she
began
singing
--
rather
lip-synching
--
the
wrong
song.
Hilarity
ensued,
although
it
didn't
seem
to
affect
her
career
whatsoever,
as
the
little
diva-in-training
continues
to
play
venue
after
venue
to
squealing
females
of
all
ages.
After
the
"SNL"
debacle
last
year,
she
was
booed
at a
performance
in
January
at
the
Orange
Bowl
in
Miami,
Fla.
Ashlee,
20,
told
the
crowd:
"I've
had
a
tough
year.
But
I've
learned
a
lot
of
lessons
and
the
most
important
is
that
I
don't
have
to
be
perfect."
The
Tower
crowd
will
hear
songs
from
her
"Pieces
of
Me"
CD,
including
the
title
track,
"Autobiography,"
where
she
sings,
"I'm
a
simple
girl
in a
complex
world."
She
said
she
co-wrote
every
song
on
the
album,
which
features
full-throttle
rock
and
danceable
tunes.
The
Waco,
Texas-born
Ashlee
has
been
dancing
since
she
was
3,
and
by
11,
she
was
the
youngest
person
ever
admitted
into
the
prestigious
School
of
American
Ballet.
She
moved
to
Los
Angeles
with
her
parents
and
Jessica
when
she
was
14,
pursuing
an
acting
career
and
dancing
in
her
sister's
stage
show,
but
dreaming
of
doing
music.
Despite
her
sister's
shadow,
Ashlee
has
a
regular
role
as
Cecilia
in
WB's
hit
"TV
Seventh
Heaven,"
a
reality
series
on
MTV
and
her
current
tour.
Rounding
out
the
show
will
be
Pepper's
Ghost,
a
Springfield-based
retro-rock
pop
group
that
combines
all
the
best
bits
of
the
Beatles,
with
a
modern
party
sound
of
today.
Tickets
are
$35.
