Dec 19, 2005  -  Ashlee Simpson Back Home After Collapsing From Exhaustion In Japan
Ashlee Simpson was back in the United States with her family Monday after collapsing from exhaustion in Japan at the end of last week.

Simpson was performing at MTV's "Cool Christmas" concert in Yokohama, Japan, Friday when she stopped in mid-song and told the audience she was not feeling well.

Although earlier reports said Simpson collapsed in the elevator of MTV Japan's offices, the singer actually returned to her hotel and was taken to an area hospital around midnight local time.

Simpson's rep said doctors diagnosed the singer with exhaustion and she flew home Saturday to her family in Dallas.

Dec 19, 2005  -  Ashlee Simpson Out Of Hospital
Ashlee Simpson is reportedly out of hospital after her sudden collapse earlier this week.

A representative for the singer, who collapsed after a Christmas concert in Yokohama, Japan, said Simpson was exhausted, and was now back in the US with her family.

Simpson had stopped half way through her set, making the excuse that she was "losing her voice." According to an MTV Japan programming manager, this was a joint decision between the channel, her staff and Simpson herself. The concert is still due to air on December 23 at 9pm.

Although earlier reports state Simpson collapsed in an MTV elevator, MTV.com says Simpson went back to her hotel room before her collapse at around midnight local time.

The 21-year-old singer on Thursday had just performed her single, "Boyfriend" for MTV Japan, when she told the audience she felt sick and said to them, "I love you guys," Us Weekly reported Friday. She then collapsed in an elevator and was rushed by ambulance to a hospital.

Her representative, Rob Shuter, confirmed the report to The Associated Press, but would not give further details or provide Simpson's condition.

Simpson, the younger sister of Jessica Simpson, has been touring to support her sophomore album, "I Am Me." She infamously was caught lip-synching her "Saturday Night Live" performance in October 2004.

Dec 10, 2005  -  Ashlee Speaks About Eating Disorder
Ashlee Simpson has admitted that she battled against an eating disorder as a child.

"When I went to ballet school, I was around a lot of girls with eating disorders, and I actually had a minor one myself," the singer told America's Cosmopolitan magazine.

"It was about six months of not eating too much at all. I was 11 and 5 feet 2 and about 70 pounds."

Simpson has thanked her family for helping her to realise that she had a problem.

"My parents stepped in and made me eat. That really helped a lot," she added.

Dec 09, 2005  -  Simpson Happy With Her Curves
Ashlee Simpson joins a long list of celebs who have endured an eating disorder.

When she was 11 and taking ballet classes, she had a brush with anorexia, Simpson, 21, told Cosmopolitan magazine.

"I was around a lot of girls with eating disorders, and I actually had a minor one myself," said the singer, who at one point stood 5 feet 2 inches but only weighed 70 lbs. Minor? Ahem.

"My parents stepped in and made me eat," she said, adding that it was "about six months of not eating too much at all." The family support, she said, "really helped a lot."

The problem, she insisted, is long past her.

"I think I have good curves, and they're womanly," Simpson said, noting that her mother and sister, Jessica, are also shapely.

She also is happy to discuss her best physical asset: "I have amazing boobs. I do; I know it. They're not too big, not too small. They're just perfect."

Dec 09, 2005  -  Simpson And Electra's Sympathy For Spears
Pop star Ashlee Simpson and actress Carmen Electra have offered their sympathy to Britney Spears, after hearing of her reported marriage problems.

Over the weekend, speculation mounted that the Toxic singer's 15 month marriage to Kevin Federline was over, after the unemployed dancer's Ferrari was towed away from the couple's Malibu, California, home.

Spears, who gave birth to their son Sean Preston in September, was scheduled to attend the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday, but cancelled. However, Federline, was seen partying in Sin City.

Backstage at the Billboards, Simpson admitted she was unsure if the reports were true, but added, "If it's true I wish the best for her. It's sad."

Meanwhile, former Baywatch babe Electra advised Spears to get out of the marriage quickly if it isn't working.

Electra says, "Sometimes you got to work through it unless you know for sure it's not working or meant to be. Then move on, don't waste your time."

Dec 05, 2005  -  Ashlee Simpson A Troublemaker In New Video
Ashlee Simpson is a bad, bad girl in the video for her new single "L.O.V.E." According to MTV.com, Ashlee skips out on her boyfriend one night to wreak havoc around town with her gal pals. First, they hit a gas station where they freak bystanders into thinking they've kidnapped a man. Next, they go to a wild house party where Ashlee grabs a Samurai sword to slice up the furniture and a guy's shirt (while he's still in it). At the same time, partygoers vandalize the house with everything from shaving cream to a chain saw. More mayhem comes when someone draws on Ashlee's face and arms with eyeliner while she's fast asleep on the couch, and she also jumps off a rooftop, landing smack on her butt.

"L.O.V.E." is the second single from Ashlee's sophomore album, I Am Me. The song is currently Number 93 on the Billboard Pop 100 singles chart.

Dec 05, 2005  -  Ashlee Simpson Is The World's Worst Date In Clip For 'L.O.V.E.'
Just call her "Smashlee": Ashlee Simpson's a girl gone wild in the video for her second single from I Am Me, breakdancing, jumping off of rooftops and slicing guys' shirts off, all in the name of "L.O.V.E."

"It's like Ashlee is playing a character from a Quentin Tarantino film," wrote director Diane Martel in her treatment of the clip.

In the video, Ashlee's the life of the party, having forsaken her latest boy toy to hang with the girls for a night out on the town. Their idea of fun is to punk unsuspecting strangers at the gas station -- by having a friend clad only in his boxers bust out of the trunk of their car, tied up, running away as if he's escaping "kidnappers." Not that other guy friends escape so easily: At one point, while Ashlee's dancing at a house party, she takes down a Samurai sword off the wall and swings it around, slicing up a couch as well as a guy's shirt, exposing his abs.

Ashlee suffers a bit for her impetuousness -- when she jumps off the roof into the bushes, she hurts her butt. And when she's dozing on the couch, someone exacts revenge for previous pranks by drawing on her face and arms with eyeliner. But that's the least of the goings-on at this party, where people draw graffiti on the walls with shaving cream, wrap themselves in bubble wrap and toilet paper, and hack up furniture with a chainsaw. By dawn, Ashlee's on her way home, alone, and the guy she blew off has tried to reach her 21 times in the night.

Not that she cares...

Dec 02, 2005  -  Simpson Discovers Self, Success In 'Me' Music/Books
Ashlee Simpson knows what it’s like to be a national joke, but she’s getting the last laugh.

In October, almost a year to the day that she had her infamous “Saturday Night Live” lip-synching mishap, Simpson’s second album,

“I Am Me” (Geffen) debuted at No. 1, giving her two No. 1 albums at the age of 21.

“It’s pretty amazing,” said Simpson, calling during a break from her current tour. “I definitely didn’t know that it would be No. 1. I’ve had my share of highs and lows this year, but I wasn’t nervous about the record. I was personally proud of the record.”

Like her debut “Autobiography,” Simpson wrote or co-wrote all the songs on “I Am Me.” However, the new album shows Simpson stretching beyond the pop-rock that made her first album successful.

For example, “L.O.V.E.,” which will be Simpson’s next single, sounds more like a Christina Aguilera dance number than a Courtney Love rocker.

“Now that I’m 21, I’m doing a lot of exploring, and I like all kinds of music,” Simpson said. “For ‘L.O.V.E.,’ I was kind of going for a European, dancey kind of feel. And now it’s my favorite song to perform.”

Simpson said her tour, which stops at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville today, is already a success because of fan reaction to her new songs.

“They’re already singing every word with me,” she said. “It’s the coolest feeling in the whole world. The first time it happened was with my first single ‘Pieces of Me’ and my heart dropped to the floor; it was so great. It’s like they’re going through the same things I am or having as much fun as I am.”

Although her tour is just starting, Simpson agreed that her biggest show is already behind her – the much-awaited return to “Saturday Night Live.”

“I didn’t expect my reaction to be so strong to it,” she said. “But I was so nervous and I was walking up to do the song, saying ‘OK, you can do this. You can do this.’ I didn’t expect my reaction to be so strong, so ‘I’m so proud of myself,’ but I was so relieved after I finished my first song. There’s nothing like facing your demons.”

Simpson is sure people will still ask her about it but says the episode is behind her. “I went back and faced something that was a complete mess-up for me, and I conquered it.”

“I had to find an inner strength and be able to block out people and things that people are saying and be able to say, ‘I’m going to do what I can do,’ ” Simpson added. “And I think my fans are so supportive and are like, ‘Yes!’ because that’s the way they are in their day-to-day lives as well. That’s how everybody is. I might fall on my face, but I’ll pick myself up and keep going.”

Dec 01, 2005  -  Ashlee: 'Jessica Doing Great'
Blonde beauty Jessica Simpson is coping well following her split from husband Nick Lachey last Wednesday, according to her singer sister Ashlee.

Ashlee insists the Simpson family Thanksgiving was unaffected by her sister's love troubles, and the subject wasn't even discussed.

She says, "Jessica's doing great. We all had a good Thanksgiving, all the family was together and we had a wonderful time."

"We didn't even talk about Jessica's breakup from Nick. It wasn't something we wanted to dwell on."

"Jessica's happy and she's absolutely fine. The only thing that stressed Jessica out was our grandparents' worry over all the attention she's getting."

"Jessica spent most of the holidays trying to reassure them that she's OK and that everything is good."
