Ashlee Simpson Starts
Chicago Rehearsals |
|
ASHLEE SIMPSON has signed on
to play murderous vixen
ROXIE HART in the London run
of the musical CHICAGO.
After weeks of speculation,
Simpson kicked off
rehearsals for the legendary
musical in a New York City
studio on Monday (28AUG06).
Chicago producer BARRY
WEISSLER confirmed the news
to American publication
Star, saying, "Yes, it is
true. Ashlee Simpson is
joining the cast of Chicago
in London. "We are very
excited and are looking
forward to gauging the
London audience reaction."
The deal for Simpson to star
in the play was finalised
this past weekend
(ends27AUG06) and she will
appear onstage in October
(06) in London's West End.
According to a source, "Ashlee's
a dancer; her background is
in dance. She wants to do
live theatre. "This will put
all of those critics to
rest. She's always wanted to
be on stage, but she got
diverted when she started
selling so many albums."
Simpson's Chicago role
follows USHER's decision to
join the cast in New York.
He's currently playing BILLY
FLYNN on Broadway, where
he's receiving lukewarm
reviews.

Lindsay
Lohan: 'Tabloids Ignored
Ashlee Simpson's Nose Job' |
Lindsay Lohan has blasted
tabloids for speculating
about her ample chest, after
they "blew off the fact"
concerning Ashlee Simpson's
recent cosmetic surgery on
her nose.
Lohan, 20, has long been the
subject of rumors she has
undergone breast enhancement
surgery, while Simpson's
rhinoplasty operation in
April made an obvious
difference to her nose and
was confirmed by her
publicist.
The Mean Girls star believes
Simpson's nose job was
virtually ignored compared
to the amount of media
attention her breasts
attracted, which Lohan has
always insisted are
completely natural.
Lohan says, "It's like when
they said I got my chest
done and it wasn't true.
"(The tabloids) kind of blew
off the fact that Ashlee
Simpson got a nose job. I've
never done anything."

Ashlee Simpson Blasted By
Marie Claire For Being A Hypocrite |
|
ASHLEE SIMPSON has been
blasted by the US edition of
Marie Claire magazine, after
she enthused about accepting
body flaws only weeks before
undergoing cosmetic surgery.
In the July (06) edition of
Marie Claire, a pre-nose job
Simpson declared, "Everyone
is made differently, and
that's what makes us
beautiful and unique. I want
girls to look in the mirror
and feel confident." In the
time between the cover
interview taking place and
publication, Simpson
underwent a rhinosplasty
operation at a Los Angeles
clinic on 21 April (06) and
has since had long blonde
hair extensions. After the
interview was published,
over 1,000 readers wrote to
the magazine in protest and
Simpson has been featured on
dozens of internet blogs,
being lambasted as a
'hypocrite'. New editor
JOANNE COLES - who has just
replaced LESLEY JANE
SEYMOUR, in charge at the
time of Simpson's interview
- writes in the September
(06) issue, "We're dazed and
confused - and disappointed
- by her choice, too."
