March 2006
March 21, 2006  -  Ashlee Simpson To Perform At May Fair
Pop superstar Ashlee Simpson and the renowned rock group Heart will be evening headliners on stage at this year at the 131st Dixon May Fair.

Heart, starring sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, will perform opening night, Thursday, May 11. Simpson, who recently recorded and released her second album, "I am me," will perform Saturday, May 13.

Talking about Heart, "This is going to be a big, big show," said fair manager Mike Green. "They're one of rock's premier live attractions, drawing sell-out crowds wherever they go. They will get the fairgrounds rocking."

Simpson, 21, is the younger sister of Jessica Simpson. Coming into her own, she is on the cover of the March edition of "Seventeen" and is appearing on television and in movies.

One of Simpson's tunes she describes as "really emotional" is "Catch Me When I Fall." She said in a recent interview with Ticketmaster, "I really go there because it's a song about being on the weak side." She said her fans are always like "We'll catch you when you fall. It's so cute."

Both the Heart and Simpson concerts begins at 8 p.m. in the outdoor concert arena. Tickets, $35 general admission and $39.50 for reserved seats, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at the Dixon May Fair office, 655 S. First St., and online at www.ticketmaster.com and at all Ticketmaster outlets.

March 02, 2006  -  'I Want To Kick Them', Says Ashlee
Ashlee Simpson gets violent urges when people attack her big sister Jessica. The brunette singer admits she gets so angry she wants to lash out at people who criticise the Newlyweds babe.

She is quoted by Britain's Heat magazine as saying: "When I read somebody saying something about Jessica, I want to kick them."

Meanwhile, Ashlee recently admitted she struggled with an eating disorder as a child. The Boyfriend singer said her parents took drastic action as soon as they noticed the problem.

She revealed: "I was about 11-years-old, and people in the dance world were really concerned about their weight.

"But, as soon as my parents saw me really skinny, they put a steak in my mouth."

Ashlee now loves her womanly curves. She said: "I think I have good curves and they're womanly.

"I think it's sexy not to be a bone, and it's sad when people get too weight-conscious and don't look in the mirror and see themselves as being as beautiful as they are."
